ABSTRACT
The article discusses the new economic incentives law, which focuses on the use of alternative energy in Puerto Rico. The Coalición del Sector Privado (Private Sector Coalition) group has conveyed its concerns and support to Cemex Inc., a local cement manufacturer, which makes used of already utilized tires as fuels to decrease energy and fuel costs to uphold competitiveness. The article also explores the role of Cemex' energy valorization projects on the development of the country.
