ABSTRACT
The article recalls various news and issues of concern to the printing industry in Great Britain. In 2007, Polestar planned to make 33 staff redundant at its gravure plant Varnicoat in Worcestershire, England in a bid to reduce capacity. John S Burns acquired three other print businesses in Glasgow, Scotland in 2003 in order to strengthen its position in the Scottish market. Heidelberg made a bid for finishing manufacturer Stahl in 1998.
