The article examines the future direction of China's energy and environment integrated strategy. It explores the current status of China's energy use and environmental pollution, and how serious is the energy crisis in the country. It suggests strategies and approaches that should be undertaken to overcome the serious energy shortage in order to ensure the sustainable development of China's economy and society. The article also considers whether biomass energy could be a critical alternative in China's energy consumption.
