ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Chinese Internet Assocation in Beijing has issued a Blog Websites Self-Censor Joint Pledge on August 21, 2007. It is stated that the pledge contained 19 items including blog Web site registration with a user's real name. It is reported that U.S. companies such as Yahoo! and MSN have signed the joint pledge. The author shares that Chinese authorities have also established an Internet online monitoring troop or network police to monitor Internet users.
