ABSTRACT
The article discusses a water reclamation plant in Orange County, California that transforms sewage into drinking water. The process by which the transformation from toilet water to drinking water takes place is described. Components of this process include treatment of the water with hydrogen peroxide, exposure to ultra-violet rays, and filtration in the groundwater basin. It is reported that 20 percent of the Colorado River, a prominent source of drinking water, originated as treated sewage.
