The article features the development of Eni Norge's Goliat oil field with a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) in Norway. The project is projected to be done in mid 2012. Previously, Goliath's plan for development and operation (PDO) was the source of debate in the country's parliament during the 2009 spring session. The project extends over several blocks, mainly 7122/7,/8 and /10, on production license PL 229/229B in the Hammerfest basin and it lies around 70 kilometers (km) from shore and 40-50 km east of StatoilHydro's Snohvit gas field. It is forecasted that the facility will have a production capacity of around 100,000 barrels per day (b/d) of oil.
