The article reports that Starbucks has terminated its human resource outsourcing (HRO) contract with Convergys in 2008. It is noted that the move has indicated another hit to the HR business process outsourcing model. In a March 13, 2008 analyst presentation, John Gibson of Convergys' employee care business announced that the two companies had mutually agreed to terminate the contract because of Starbucks' shifting priorities to focus on short-term initiatives unrelated to HR management.
