ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the growth of fungi in the Tasmanian rainforest. It states that the author, a mycologist, and a few enthusiastic amateurs set out for a fungi expedition trying to study the wide variety of bonnets, waxcaps, webcaps, skinheads, and document their study. Fungi is known to play a prominent role in the breakdown of leaves and woods in wet forests. The team managed to collect 200 species and are being preserved at the National Herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, Victoria.
