ABSTRACT
The article reports on the mandatory switch in 2009 from analog to digital television (TV) transmission in the U.S. This mandate is an addition to the continuous development of the consumer electronics (CE) markets in India, Middle East and China, the article notes. A growth of 3.1 billion units from 2.7 billion in 2007 will be obtained from the shipments of personal computers, TVs and communication products like mobile phones.
