ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the aim of the National Literacy Trust (NLT) for the literacy of the society. He argues that the aim, when passed into curriculum, teaching, and public money, tends to focus on the assessment of proving ones achievement. It explores the functional literacy at West Dunbartonshire, family learning, and personalization agenda. The author suggests that the participation of families, and all organizations in children's lives ensure the fulfillment of their potential.
