ABSTRACT
The article reports on a vigil held at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center for gay teenager Lawrence King who was shot in an Oxnard junior high school in Southern California. King was allegedly shot by a fellow student who had been identified as Brandon McInerney. King is a self-identified gay and sometimes wore make-up and feminine jewelry to school which made him an easy target for school bullying and ridicule.
