ABSTRACT
The article discusses the advantages of developing renewable energy sources. According to the author, venture capitalists in North America and Europe invested $1.9 billion in clean-technology companies in 2007 for the development of alternative fuels, water purification, and renewable energy. However, he claims that the advantages of renewable energy sources are often clouded by confusion, due mainly to the U.S. dependence on fossil fuels. A discussion on the developments in the industry in 2008 is presented.
