ABSTRACT
The article presents an argument for teaching evolution. The author argues that the theory of evolution is central to modern biology and should be taught to all students. Incidents of requiring creationism or intelligent design to be taught in place of evolution are discussed. Particular focus is given to the religiously neutral status of scientific theories including evolution. The discriminatory nature of providing religious instruction within multicultural Canadian classrooms is explored.
