ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a study regarding the treatment of class II severe malocclusion. This study involves 55 patients with age ranging from 9 to 34 years and had full orthodontic records before, during and post therapy. It has been concluded that dental movements of the maxillary incisor and maxillary molar do not show much change and that the mandibular response in early treatment patients was greater than it was if treatment was done only in the permanent dentition.

Exaggerated curve of Spee is frequently observed in dental malocclusions with deep overbites. Such excessive curve of Spee alters the muscle imbalance, ultimately leading to the improper functional occlusion. It has been proposed that an imbalance between the anterior and the posterior...

This study shows the types of malocclusions that can be treated in the primary dentition and advocates correction of maxillary constrictions from five years of age onwards, when such constrictions lead to crossbites. A preferred method to treat maxillary constrictions is through rapid maxillary...

During mixed dentition period discrepancy between spaces available and required in the arch is predicted so that teeth can erupt freely with good alignment. Mixed dentition space analysis is done for this purpose in which size of unerupted canine and premolars is predicted. Accurate prediction...

It has been reported that extraction of primary canines causes a slight mesial drift of the buccal segments, lingual positioning of the incisors, a decrease in arch length, deepening of the bite, and a slight overall crowding in the arch. Aim: In the UK, first permanent molars (FPMs) of poor prognosis are often planned for extraction so that second permanent molars (SPMs) erupt favourably to replace the FPMs. However, there is little published data to support this treatment strategy. The aim of this study was to assess the...
