ABSTRACT
The article discusses the prevalence of texting while driving (TWD) among teenagers in the U.S. and the dangers attributed to this practice. It cites that one of the first reported cases of TWD was in 2005, which involved a man in Tennessee who lost control of his pickup truck and got killed. It mentions that 19% of drivers text message while driving based on a study conducted by Nationwide Mutual Insurance. It states that Sprint Nextel is claiming that only education is necessary to address the problem on TWD.
