ABSTRACT
Mr. Darwin, of course, could never have anticipated the many discoveries of the twentieth century geneticists. Recent discoveries of concerted evolution of repeated elements in eukaryote genomes shed new light on our understanding of the nature of genetic organization and pose new challenges to current theories of natural selection and speciation.
