National Science Board Approves and Takes to Congress National Action Plan for Twenty-First Century STEM Education

The article discusses an action plan for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) that has been written by the U.S. National Science Board. The group recommended that a non-governmental council on STEM education be created and that the number of STEM teachers increase. The report also presents methods to encourage educational cooperation among schools and government entities and curriculum guidelines. An excerpt of the report is included which expresses some concern over the lack in the U.S. of students studying technical subjects.
