ABSTRACT
The article examines the different ways in which the portrayal of the Maid Marian character in Robin Hood books are reflective of changes in the perceptions of women's roles in society. It includes an in-depth analysis of the evolution of gender representations in books for young people, as well as the issues' implications for children's literature.
