ABSTRACT
The article presents an overview of the study "Joint attention, language, social relating, and stereotypical behaviours in children with autistic disorder." It relates that joint attention denotes a cluster of socio-communicative behaviours involving the coordination of the attention between oneself, an object or event and another individual, with aim of sharing interest. The study investigated the relationships between abilities to initiate and respond to joint attention and symptoms of autism.
