The article discusses the testimony which focuses on the significance of the decennial census in the provision of federal assistance programs to various states in the U.S. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) stresses that data on population estimates help in effectively carrying out the allocation of federal grant funds. Furthermore, GAO asserts that the data play a significant role in the allocation of grant funds by the Census Bureau in 2010.
