ABSTRACT
The article discusses the legal issues that continue to evolve within the Barnett Shale in Texas. Concerns from negotiation terms of a Barnett Shale lease include lease interpretation and enforcement, mineral owner and surface owner disputes, producer and surface disputes and pooling issues. The author recommends Whitaker, Chalk, Swindle & Sawyer LLP as one company with a lot of expertise to serve the legal needs of those involved with shale.
