ABSTRACT
The article reports that many windfarm projects are currently stuck in the planning system of Great Britain that the government's target of 10 per cent of green energy by 2010 is at serious risk. A report compiled by the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) has indicated that decisions are needed urgently on schemes with a capacity of 1,300MW if that target is to be achieved. According to BWEA figures, there are currently more than 200 onshore wind projects totalling nearly 8,000MW of capacity in the planning system awaiting determination.
