ABSTRACT
The article reports on the impact of homophobia on the increase of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) cases in Africa. It was stated that homosexuals are the main factor to the rise of population of AIDS infected individuals in the region. According to researchers who implement human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention programs in Rwanda, sex discrimination in Africa against homosexuals are far-flung and AIDS campaigns are poorly administered. Moreover, Scot Geibel, a researcher, suggests that sexually transmitted infection prevention and health care programs should be comprehensive, should reach homosexuals and male sex workers, and should encourage the use condom.
