ABSTRACT
The article offers information on carbon offset programs in Australia. Basically, carbon offset programs allow one to compensate for the carbon dioxide from flights, cars and the household energy one uses and released into the atmosphere. New South Wales' GGAS scheme was one of the first carbon trading programs in the world. The most common programs cover tree planting, as trees soak up the carbon dioxide. But the best way to reduce carbon emissions is to avoid them in the first place.
