ABSTRACT
The article examines the foreign policy of the U.S. in discouraging Iran from developing nuclear weapons. The impact of the Iran's nuclear policy on the economic interest of the U.S. around the Persian Gulf., as well as the cost of taking military actions. Deterring Iran from using the weapons, prevent it from using the status in increasing its influence and encourage cooperation with the U.S. and regional allies were among other options discussed to undertake.
