ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of the proposed cap and trade emissions trading system in New Zealand. The scheme is designed to produce a financial incentive for emission reduction, which will function under the Kyoto Protocol and chartered accountants. The cap and trade framework will require the participants to hold emission units equivalent to the level of greenhouse gases they discharge.
