The article focuses on the significance of new applications and technologies for intelligent clothing on the survival of inactive textile industry in Europe. It is stated that to compete with low-cost competitors such as India, the European textile industry is enhancing its efforts to promote smart clothing that are comfortable, washable and useful. Moreover, the integration of fabric and electronics in the healthcare sector is considered the most promising area in intelligent garment.
