The Changing Labor Market in China

The article reports on the changing labor market in China. The country is now facing pressure to enact and uphold a labor contract law that could raise labor costs by increasing worker rights and decreasing flexibility for firms adding or reducing staff. It has been noted that many international companies operating in the country oppose regulations on part- and full-time employment but some promote best practices in human resources and labor management as assets.
