ABSTRACT
The article deals with the results of a survey regarding independent hotels and hotel chains that was commissioned by HRS and presents several charts showing the performance of Great Britain's rail and airlines. Based on the survey, almost half of independent hoteliers believe hotel chains are pricing them out of the market while contributing nothing to the visitor experience. It also showed that only 34% believed these chains would put them out of business, 64% did not agree that there was a threat.
