ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Blockbuster Inc. to offer only Blu-ray disc titles among its high-definition (HD) video rental selections at many company-owned stores. The company will continue to offer rival HD digital video disc (DVD) and Blu-ray at selected stores that have carried both format since November 2006. The move comes as a result of new consumer rental trends that indicate a shift from HD DVD, according to Blockbuster senior vice president Matthew Smith.
