ABSTRACT
The article discusses the results of a survey of primary-care physicians and cardiologists and their attitudes about patients' out-of-pocket prescription costs. It revealed that 92% of the doctors agreed that when writing prescriptions, they should consider patients' prescription costs. C. Caleb Alexander, who authored the survey, recommends doctors to explore alternative such as prescribing a generic medication if patients express concerns about their out-of-pocket costs.
