ABSTRACT
The article presents legal developments in marketing relating to the regulation of product characteristics. Regarding product standards, the Consumer Product Safety Act is discussed, which created a comprehensive system of government quality control of consumer product markets. The purposes of the Consumer Product Safety Act are outlined and examined. The Flammable Fabrics Act is also discussed, as well as several companies that violated the act and were inform of such violations by the United States Federal Trade Commission.
