ABSTRACT
The use of overlapping text (OLT) as a means for teaching students the comprehension of content is an important strategy for any instructor who uses text in the classroom. Based on the work of Kristeva, OLT is based on the theory of intertextuality. This paper will present a model for using OLT as one strategy for enhancing content literacy the secondary and post secondary levels. A sample OLT is shown as well.
