ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the concept of power substation hardening in the electric utility sector in the U.S. The author highlights that hardening a substation should imply making it less vulnerable to the full range of natural or manmade threats to equipment integrity and system reliability. He also points out the importance of selection and screening of components as well as the choice of architecture to any substation hardening initiative.
