The author discusses the return of creativity in the practice of teaching language, literacy, and literature and in everyday speech. There is a growing awareness of the value of creativity in social and cultural settings and in interpersonal relationships. The author states that creativity in language takes place when a pattern is broken in order for something different to stand out.
