ABSTRACT
The article explains the relationship between two industrial technologies viz. business process management (BPM) and enterprise content management (ECM) and also suggests ways to bring these technologies together in applications that benefit users. It states that many organizations are using ECM technologies to manage a range of structured data within business processes. It suggests that a survey of multiple departments in the organization at the beginning of any strategy project is the most effective method of developing a set of requirements for ECM and BPM.
