The article focuses on the efforts by the broadcasting industry and citizens' groups to enable parents to monitor their children's viewing choices. The growth of new content providing methods and their increasing use in American households are cited. Attempts to educate parents through individual and group communication are given. The industry's desire to avoid further government regulation of content is noted.
