ABSTRACT
The article presents information on greenhouse gas emissions from an average household in Australia. It is stated that around 14 tonnes of greenhouse gas is emitted each year. Each tonne of greenhouse gas avoided will save between $130 and $470, depending on the type of energy used. One third of greenhouse gases is produced from transport. A house using electricity to heat water generates about 4 tonnes of greenhouse gas per annum.
