ABSTRACT
The article discusses the use of alternative energy sources, including solar energy, wind turbines, and ethanol, instead of petroleum. Public policy and financial aspects of renewable energy sources are discussed. Chemists are working on improving the efficiency of fuel cells so that automobiles can run on hydrogen produced by renewable, non-carbon-emitting power sources.
