ABSTRACT
The article reports that Somalia coast has become a pirates' paradise. Over the past seven months, Somali pirates have attacked 25 vessels, and are becoming more aggressive and skillful. Somalia, which boasts the longest coastline in Africa, is no easy place to monitor. Without an effective central government the country is split among warlords and is in a state of anarchy. Somali pirates often receive huge amounts in ransom, which they invest in modernizing their wares.
