The article focuses on the staff development teacher who is responsible in facilitating the development of a school-based professional learning community concentrated to improve teaching and learning in Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. During the transformation of around 200 teachers into skilled staff developers, knowledge and skills were needed by these teacher leaders to transform school staffs into professional learning communities. The creation of a professional learning program by the team members, intended for school-based coaches that focused on training, coaching, as well as professional community are also considered.
