ABSTRACT
The article reports on the breadth of vision of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India. He was the pioneering leader of India's economic reforms, which restrained the all-powerful Indian bureaucrat and sought a significant place for India in the global economy. It is to be noted that despite his great success, he has remained approachable and instinctively sympathetic to the underdogs of society.
