ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the issue of political leadership in Palestine. Mahmoud Abbas, chairperson of Munazzamat al-Tahrir al-Filastiniyah (P.L.O) and former Prime Minister, might not survive till the presidential election in January 1, 2005, for the oppositions brewing within Fatah, the main faction of the P.L.O. There were attacks on a mourning tent in Gaza, after the death of Yasser Arafat, former chairperson of P.L.O., killing two bodyguards where Abbas was supposed to arrive.
