ABSTRACT
The article explores the history of the Berlin Wall and its significance to the life of the people living in both West and East Berlin, Germany. The people living in West Berlin has considered the wall as a fact of life and a freedom fortress from the East and Soviet communist power, while East Berliners considered it as a symbol of cold war. The author hopes that in the near future, both cities would be reunified to form the country's capital.
