ABSTRACT
The article discusses the significance of solar envelope in the accumulation of more solar energy access in the U.S. The solar envelope is constituted to provide more solar access that has been hindered by the existence of tall buildings. In particular, this is comprised of imaginary boundaries enclosing a building site and regulates development relative to the sun's motion. Moreover, the existence of envelopes in a building enables their surrounding to gain access of solar energy even in critical energy-receiving periods of the day and year. Furthermore, advantages on the application of the solar envelope are presented which highlights its sense of good-neighbor policy.
