ABSTRACT
The article reveals the ratings given by a panel of economists on the economic performance of the Republican Party in the U.S. in various areas including fiscal policy, international economic policy and leadership. Economists gave a D grade for long-term fiscal policy due to the reluctance of the Congress to deal with long-term liabilities of Medicare and Social Security. They awarded a C rating in adopting international economic policy and another C rating in promoting economic policy.
