ABSTRACT
The article discusses Easy Jet's entry into the Spanish air market making Madrid as its 17th base. The airline operates to Spain but has now opened a base running domestic flights. Most of Spain's internal routes are run by Iberia and Spanair whose rates are higher, which opens an opportunity to EasyJet to make an impression. It is yet to decide the number of aircraft to station in Madrid's Barajas airport. Crew recruitment had already begun. Ryanair has a base at Girona, operating flights within Spain.
