The article focuses on the discussions concerning the number of challenges to the future stability of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) alliance. Accordingly, with a growing disarmament movement in Europe, and a conflict in the Falkland Islands which threatens to drive a wedge between the U.S. and England, questions about the directions of the NATO alliance have become increasingly frequent. It has focused on the critical examination of the role of the U.S. in NATO and in the world.
