ABSTRACT
The article reflects the author's view regarding the political systems between the U.S. and Soviet Union as the year 1962 opens. According to the author, 1962 finds humanity in the midst of turmoil of much broader scope than the mere conflict between the East and the West over the domination of certain areas in Europe and Asia. He stresses that the great challenge of time is a challenge common to all humanity, to libertarian as well as to totalitarian societies. The need to see the political and military conflict of the present time in the perspective of the great sweep of the scientific revolution must be taken into account. Other line of thoughts relative to the matter are presented.
