ABSTRACT
This article reports that a bipartisan coalition of senators and representatives are introducing a congressional resolution that would establish a goal of producing 25 percent of the country's energy supply from the nation's farms and rural communities by 2025. The resolution calls for dramatically boosting ethanol, biodiesel, wind, solar and biomass supplies to meet America's energy needs. Renewable energy sources are generally considered less polluting than traditional carbon-based fossil fuels. The resolution is nonbinding and does not prescribe a means for meeting the so-called 25 by 2025 goal.
